CIC Winnipeg: The ‘Trump’ effect on trade

September 26, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm CDT

Description

Donald Trump is only the latest manifestation of growing nationalism and protectionist forces influencing global trade patterns and policies. The implications for an export-dependent nation such as Canada and provinces such as Manitoba, particularly its agricultural sector, are profound. Laura’s presentation will explore how market access is being affected by tariff and non-tariff barriers, and how domestic policy is being influenced by international pressures.
