CIC Toronto: Seminar on the Trans Pacific Partnership by leading trade law experts

Lawrence Herman: Lawrence is a trade law expert with experience from the private and public sectors.  He served in the Canadian Foreign Service in the 1970s, representing Canada in numerous international conferences and meetings, including the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development and the UN Conference on the Law of the Seas.  Most recently, Lawrence has taken on a role as an lecturer in the area of trade law.  In 2012 Lawrence was awarded the Lexpert Zenith Award for his contributions to the field of international law.

Milos Barutciski: Milos is a partner at Bennett Jones and is the Co-Head of International Trade at the firm.  Milos practices in the area of international trade, investment, competition law and other aspects of economic regulation and compliance. Milos has represented Canadian and international clients in matters relating to NAFTA and the WTO Agreements, among other investment treaties.  As recently as this year, Milos has been recognised as a Band 1, International Trade/WTO lawyer by Chambers Canada.

Matthew Kronby: Matthew is a partner at Bennett Jones and practices in the areas of international trade, investment and regulatory compliance. Matthew has appeared frequently before the WTO panels and the WTO Appellate Body.  Matthew has led legal teams in high-profile disputes, including softwood lumber and aircraft subsidies disputes.  From 2009 to 2012, Matthew served as the Director General of the Government of Canada’s Trade Law Bureau.   In addition to his legal practice, Matthew is an adjunct professor of International Arbitration at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law.
