As part of Black History Month, the ASG is pleased to present an interactive conversation with Professor Oumar Ndongo of the Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Senegal. Professor Ndongo aims to enlighten us on aspects of the important contributions of people of African descent in the world with a special outlook on issues of recognition, justice and development. He will also share with us his unique analysis on the mounting significance of people of African descent uniting around the knowledge of their global heritage and legacy.

Dans le cadre du Mois de l’histoire des Noirs, l’ASG a le plaisir de présenter une conversation interactive avec le professeur Oumar Ndongo de l’Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar, au Sénégal. Le professeur Ndongo souhaite nous apporter un éclairage sur les contributions importantes des personnes d’ascendance africaine dans le monde, en particulier sur les questions de reconnaissance, de justice et de développement. Il partagera également avec nous son analyse unique sur l’importance croissante de la convergence des personnes d’ascendance africaine autour de la connaissance de leur patrimoine et de leur héritage mondial.

Speaker bio:

Oumar Ndongo is a professor of American Studies and Comparative literature at Cheikh Anta Diop University, Dakar, Senegal. He is president of the Professors World Peace Academy, Senegal Branch. He served as scientific director of the First UPF African Summit held in Dakar. He attended the 2020 World Summit in Seoul and became a member of the International Association for Academicians for Peace. Professor Oumar Ndongo is a member of the West African College of Peacebuilders in recognition for his achievements in peace in the West African region.
