CIC National Capital (Ottawa): Israel, Palestine, and Canada’s Commitment to International Law (Online event)

The CIC National Capital Branch’s Middle East Study Group invites you to this event featuring Dr. Ardi Imseis, Assistant Professor of Law, Faculty of Law at Queen’s University

Overview:
Canada prides itself as a progressive proponent of the rules-based international legal order. Has Ottawa remained true to this ideal in its policy on Israel/Palestine? Professor Ardi Imseis will examine two areas of current interest as he critically considers this question – Canada’s policy on Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory and Canada’s position on Palestine’s accession to the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

Member of the Group of Eminent International and Regional Experts, the UN Human Rights Council commission of inquiry into the civil war in Yemen (2019-2021).
