CIC National Capital (Ottawa): Canada-Japan: Partners in a Changing World

March 24, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Japan is one of Canada’s closest partners in the Indo-Pacific region. As Ottawa develops a new regional strategy, and against the backdrop of a security environment in which the long-established order is being challenged, join us for a fresh look at how Canada, Japan and other like-minded democracies can work together to advance their shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific.

On Thursday, March 24, the Canadian International Council’s National Capital Branch’s Asia-Pacific Study Group will host a panel discussion with Stephen R. Nagy and Cleo Paskal.

  • Stephen R. Nagy, Senior Associate Professor at the Department of Politics and International Studies, International Christian University, Tokyo; Visiting Fellow at the Japan Institute for International Affairs (JIIA); Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, and the Macdonald-Laurier Institute.
  • Cleo Paskal, Associate Fellow, Chatham House (UK); Non-Resident Senior Fellow for the Indo-Pacific, Foundation for Defense of Democracies, D.C.; Senior Fellow, Usanas Foundation, India; Associate Fellow/Non-Resident Senior Fellow, Trudeau Foundation
This free event will take place on Zoom, and audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions. Everyone is welcome!
