CIC Edmonton: Chinese Communist Party’s Coercive Diplomacy

February 10, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm MST
Free

The Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI),  in their recent report on the Chinese Communist Party’s coercive diplomacy, has found that there has been an escalation in the use political and strategic coercive measures to defend what the CPP defines as China’s ‘core’ national interests.

As China is the largest trading partner for nearly two-thirds of the world, this coercive diplomacy have made countries and businesses vulnerable to economic,  strategic, and security risks.

To help us understand China’s coercive diplomacy and its implications for Canada and the world, CIC Edmonton is being joined by Fergus Hanson, APSI’s Director of the International Cyber Policy Centre and the co-author of the ASPI report.  A Q&A period will follow the presentation on the report.

This online event is on Wednesday, February 10th at 6PM MT.  Hope you can join us!
