February 26, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm MST

“Perhaps the mission of an artist is to interpret beauty to people—the beauty within themselves.” Langston Hughes

“History depends on who wrote it” – Nelson Mandela

In elementary or high school, were you taught:

2) Which country has the oldest Botanical Gardens in the Western Hemisphere?

3) Who is the first recorded person of African Heritage in Canada?

4) Who is Zumbi?

5) What is Fufu?

If you don’t know the answer to these questions, learn by joining us for CIC YEG’s Black History Month trivia night!

The winner will be awarded a gift certificate from a Black Owned Business.

Written and spoken word poetry is a hallmark of African and Black diaspora art. CIC Edmonton is pleased to have Timiro Mohamed, Edmonton’s current Youth Poet Laureate and poetry editor of The Drinking Gourd as our guest presenter.
